A spot inspection of the Grand Forks levee system has revealed a crack in a flood wall near the Sorlie Bridge. The crack was discovered by U.S. Army Corp of Engineers this spring.
Without discussion the Grand Forks council last night (Monday) agreed to proceed with repairs to the flood wall at an estimated cost of $100.000 dollars. Bids on the work are due back in late August.
The “fix” is expected to be completed by November 1st.
A more thorough inspection of the 14 miles of levee…two miles of flood wall….and 12 pump stations is expected by the USACE in 2025.
