Fargo Police say one officer was killed and two others were critically injured in a shooting that also left the suspect dead on a busy Fargo street.
Police say a civilian also was seriously wounded in the shooting just before 3:00 p.m. Friday near the intersection of 25th Street and 9th Avenue South.
Witnesses say a man opened fire on police officers before other officers shot him.
Police did not provide a possible motive or the identities of the officers and the suspect.
Meanwhile, about two miles away, a south Fargo apartment building was later evacuated on Friday and multiple law enforcement agencies searched a rental unit believed to have been occupied by the suspect.
Police say more information will be provided at a press conference scheduled for 3:30 this (Sat.) afternoon.
