A public art project that targets the University Park Neighborhood is underway.
In addition to a future mural on the side of Valley Middle School a pair of fire hydrants in front of the school building have already received a new coat of paint. The painted hydrants are part of a larger beatification effort. Other hydrants are expected to be added to the art program. An application for the fire hydrant painting is available on the UPN Facebook page.
School officials have stressed that the mural will be designed by professional artists and students. The mural will be on a separate board – not the building itself. The mural may or may not be transferred to the new Valley campus.
