Altru Hospital project on target

The City of Grand Forks has set a public hearing date of August 21st on Altru’s request for $150 million dollars in tax exempt bonds to complete the financing for the new hospital project.

Altru officials updated city council members this week on the latest construction timeline. Altru C-E-O Todd Forkel says the new hospital will build upon recent successful metrics ranging from financial and recruitment to quality of care health rankings.

Altru Interim C-F-O Derek Goebel says the hospital construction is on target – or slightly ahead of schedule.  Construction is over the 50% mark with substantial completion in October 2024.  Goebel says final occupancy of the new hospital is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025 with demo of the current building in 2026.
