A Utah-based helicopter medical service has closed its bases in Devils Lake and Williston (ND).
A spokesperson for Guardian Flight says the closure took effect Monday (July 10).
In a statement, the spokesperson said, “several challenges, including low flight capture due to non-controllable issues such as weather and inflation, were significant factors in the decision…”
Guardian’s Devils Lake air medical base opened in 2014, while Williston’s opened in 2012, serving patients within a 150-mile radius.
The Guardian spokesperson said the decision will not impact operations at its Grand Forks base.
