Nearly 700 UND diplomas mailed with “NDSU” branding

By Pat Sweeney Jul 5, 2023 | 1:20 PM

Nearly 700 recent UND graduates are receiving unintentionally misprinted diplomas in the mail.

The grads are expecting to see the words “University of North Dakota” emblazoned at the top.

But instead, the diplomas read: “North Dakota State University.”

UND says the error was made by a third-party vendor, Parchment, Inc., which put the wrong school and seal on the certificates.

The mistake was discovered Monday.

In an email to graduated students, UND registrar Scott Correll apologized for the inconvenience, and said the vendor is working as quickly as possible to mail out the corrected documents.

About 1,700 students were eligible to graduate from UND this spring.
