
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has released climate stats for the month of June.
It was the warmest June on record at the Grand Forks International Airport, which has kept records since 1941. The average temp was 71.6 degrees… two-tenths of a degree higher than the previous record in 1988.
At the Weather Service’s U-N-D Grand Forks climate station, it was the second-warmest June on record, with an average temp of 71.8 degrees. The warmest was June 1988 with an average temp of 74.7 degrees.
(The Grand Forks station has tracked records since 1893.)
And for Fargo, last month was the warmest June on record, thank to an average temp of 74.8 degrees. That’s one degree higher than the previous mark set in 1988.
Unusually warm overnight lows led to the warmest or near warmest June on record.
Looking at average daytime highs only, it was the fourth-warmest in Fargo and seventh-warmest in Grand Forks.
