The Sunshine Hospitality Home in Grand Forks is celebrating a birthday of sorts this week. The facility at 933 Duke Drive is designed to provide a place for Altru patients and families who travel for healthcare needs.
Last year the Sunshine Hospitality Home served some 3,442 guests and provided 4,938 nights of comfort. A total of 168 guests traveled more than 200 miles for their care. So far in 2023 the figure tops 4,000 nights. Guests and families pay a suggested fee of $40 dollars per stay – but financial assistance is available for those who need it.
The facility opened in 2018 and provides sleeping accommodations along with a kitchen…laundry…and computer access.
An open house was held on Wednesday.
