A sobriety checkpoint set up in north Grand Forks on Friday resulted in a handful of arrests and citations.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol set up shop on U.S. 81 just north of Gateway Drive between 10:00 p.m. and midnight. A total of 91 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Authorities say five vehicles were screened for impairment. The checkpoint resulted in one DUI arrest…two open container violations…and one wrong-way driving ticket.
The NDHP says so far in 2023 they have made 434 DUI arrests. The state has recorded 40 fatalities.
