Severe weather passed through portions of the Red River Valley over the weekend.
Tornado Warnings were posted late Saturday afternoon for Polk and Mahnomen counties. A series of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for other areas – including a Grand Forks County.
A Flash Flood warning was issued for the St. Thomas area in Pembina County Sunday morning after a two day rain total of seven inches. The heavy rain briefly closed a small stretch of I-29 south of Drayton due to flooding.
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks says a storm survey team has been sent to the Becker…Norman…Mahnomen county areas to follow up on tornado and storm damage reports.
