Construction delays are threatening the future of a proposed crypto mining datacenter in northwest North Dakota. The Williams County Commission voted Tuesday to ask a utility company to cut power to the second phase of a crypto mining datacenter near Williston. Commissioners said FX Solutions and Atlas Power, which are building the datacenter, have failed to meet a June 16 deadline for several stipulations for the project. That comes after the project was given previous extensions for work on roads, security, noise mitigation and other construction. Commission Chairman Cory Hanson the commission had not received any explanation for the continued delays. Gov. Doug Burgum announced the construction of the $1.9 billion center in January of 2022.
