The Grand Forks School District has accepted the ownership of land necessary to pave the way for the new Career Impact Academy.
The school board approved a resolution last night (Monday) accepting two parcels from the city at a combined value of over $1.7 million dollars. The CIA will offer career programming for high school and adult learners.
Bret Cummings of PCL Construction says they hope to be in the ground by September. Cummings says the construction timeline is 16 to 18 months. A firm price on the building is anticipated in early July.
The building will be located near the intersection of Gateway and I-29 on the site of the former Grand Forks Inn and Suites.
