Plans to move the Riverside Christian School across the river and into the old Macy’s building at the Columbia Mall have been scrapped.
The RCS School Board has updated parents about the decision to terminate the purchase. One of the biggest reasons cited was the struggle to amend the original operating agreement that multiple tenants in the mall needed to approve.
The Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission voted in favor of the zoning amendments needed for the potential move back in March.
School officials say they have not ruled out the possibility of a new build on land in south Grand Forks at some future date.
