The Grand Forks Fire Department was called out Friday to extinguish a vehicle fire on I-29. Crews responded to the blaze north of the 32nd interchange shortly before 4:00 p.m. Traffic was backed up for several blocks as one north bound lane was blocked for emergency vehicles.

A 43-year-old woman from Canada was killed when the motorycle she was a passenger on hit a pickup in North Dakota’s Divide County on Sunday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the accident occurred around 4:15 PM near the intersection of Highways 5 and 85.
Both the victim and the motorcycle driver were thrown from the vehicle upon impact.
Troopers identified the victim as Leigh-Ann Tessier of Estevan, Saskatchewan.
The motorcycle driver – 42-year-old Darrel Tessier, also of Estevan – suffered serious injuries and is in a Minot hospital.
The 25-year-old driver of the pickup, Brett Engen of Williston (ND), was not hurt. Troopers say charges against Engen are pending.

A 31 year old woman from Cando (ND) was killed when the car she was a passenger in ran off Highway 66 in rural Towner County this morning. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 20 year old driver crossed the centerline and entered the north ditch. The vehicle overturned multiple times and caught fire. The accident occurred about 4 miles east of Egeland (ND) shortly before 6:00 a.m. The victim was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
