The Grand Forks School District will look to hire a construction manager at risk for the new Valley Middle School project. Voters authorized the district to move forward with the school construction as well as a new central kitchen and security upgrades when they approved the $79 million dollar referendum.
The school board designated a committee to begin the search and selection of the CMAR. Business Manager Brandon Baumbach says there are advantages to going this route. “Generally it will help us reduce expenditures and overall expense in the construction process. It will help us with a single point of contact throughout or all of this.”
In other board action members named Jonathon Ellwein as the new Director of Building and Grounds. He is the Maintenance Director for C & W Services / Core Scientific. He will earn an annual salary of $113,393. He will start his new role immediately.
