The Grand Forks council continued its discussion last night (Monday) about potential changes to the public comment portion of the meeting.
The current policy dates back to August – but the tone of the comments in recent months prompted several members to ask for the issue to be revisited.
Among the topics of talk: a revised code of conduct…keeping comments to five minutes…allowing comments only at regular council meetings…and the use of comment cards by citizens who wish to speak. The council is expected to act on any changes at a future meeting.

Developers of an industrial project will get a five year 100% tax break from the City of Grand Forks to help incentivize construction of an $11 to $12 million dollar building. The 100,000 square foot complex would sit on ten plus acres of land near 36th Avenue South and I-29.
Enclave Companies would construct and maintain ownership of The Exchange with the intent of leasing the space to three or four tenants.
The PILOT exemption is for the building improvements only and not the land.
