Grand Forks school officials urged voters to head to the polls next week to decide a $79 million dollar referendum issue during a fourth and final community meeting last night (Thursday).
The “ask” of voters would pay for a new Valley Middle School…build a new central kitchen…and make safety-security improvements in all schools.
The district has released renderings of the new Valley project – but Kyle Kvamme of the ICON Architectural Group says it’s simply a concept image based on square footage and budget. “We have to meet with staff and we have to go through the programming and design exercise. The picture everyone sees is just an exterior view to give folks an idea of what would sit on the site and how big it would be. The design is not done and we don’t start until the voters tell us to.”
Voting will take place Tuesday at the Alerus Center from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
