GF development projects looking to build

By Doug Barrett May 9, 2023 | 9:30 AM

The Local Government Advisory Committee will be called into action later this month to review potential tax breaks on the proposed Epitome Energy and Memorial Village II projects in Grand Forks.

The Grand Forks council received an update on both developments last night (Monday) and the need for a PILOT to assist in financing the construction.

Epitome is looking to build  a $420 million dollar soybean crushing plant that would process 120,000 bushels per day. A draft agreement between the two sides is being finalized.

The $44 million dollar Memorial Village II project would be located on the east edge of the UND campus and include a softball complex. A low-interest loan through the city’s Economic Development Fund could assist with the softball portion of the plan.

The LGA meeting will solicit input from city…county…and school officials on May 22nd.
