Authorities have identified a Grand Forks man who died in a Saturday night shooting incident.

Grand Forks Police say 53-year-old Dwight Cross was shot and killed in an apparent argument with 24-year-old Javon Lowery of Grand Forks.

Police were called to 1110 Stanford Road just before 9:00 PM.

According to police, Cross confronted Lowery and a brief argument ensued.

Cross then displayed what appeared to be a firearm towards Lowery, causing Lowery to use his own handgun, hitting Cross in the chest.

Cross’ weapon was later determined by officers to be a pellet-style rifle.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have yet been filed.
