RiverView Health in Crookston is closing its skilled nursing facility.
Difficulty in finding nursing assistants and licensed nurses has prompted the move. In a prepared statement RiverView says they have increasingly been forced to provide resident care through temporary, traveling staff. The cost of that labor for Memory Care hit a record $725,000 dollars in 2022 – nearly double from the year before.
An agreement between RiverView and Benedictine Crookston has been established to help facilitate transfer between the two facilities for residents wishing to stay in Crookston.
Severance packages and retention incentives have been offered to staff participating in the transition.
