A suspect in a fatal shooting in Sheyenne (ND) is in custody.
The Benson County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Nicholas Poitra has been apprehended. The announcement was posted on social media early this (Wed) afternoon, but no details were given.
Poitra is wanted in the death of 30-year-old Troyal Thumb, who was shot inside Rindy’s Bar Sunday night during an argument.
The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office says Poitra stole a vehicle at the scene and fled. The vehicle was found abandoned near a farm in Wells County.
Poitra faces 11 charges in Eddy County including murder…felon in possession of a firearm…and seven counts of terrorizing.
