With an extra $17.6 million dollars sitting in the bank there’s no shortage of spending requests coming before Minnesota lawmakers this session.

A House committee took up a provision for K-12 schools that would increase the basic funding formula by over $1 billion dollars in the upcoming biennium.

The funding formula would climb by 5% annually in the next two fiscal years. The increase is projected to net the East Grand Forks District another $809,000 dollars.
