Fire officials say a man was seriously burned in an explosion and fire at an oil field in western North Dakota. The Williston Fire Department said in a statement that the explosion occurred Friday night at a saltwater disposal site just north of Alexander on U.S. Highway 85. Preliminary reports are that several tanks exploded. The department says one male was severely burned and was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. The fire was contained early Saturday. The cause of the fire and explosion is under investigation.
