A bill pending before a Senate Human Services Committee would ban mRNA shots from going into the arms of North Dakotans – or any other mammal in the state.
Senate Bill 2384 would make it a Class A misdemeanor for those who violate the law.
Senator Jeff Magrum says he decided to draft the legislation after two of his aunts died from blood clots.
North Dakota Immunization Program Manager Molly Howell says over one million doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the state. Howell says there is a lot of exciting things happening with the technology regarding the flu and certain cancers. “After February 2023 the mRNA will be the only COVID vaccines available. That means if this bill passes North Dakotans would not be able to receive any COVID-19 vaccines.”
An amendment to the bill would require an interim study of mRNA vaccines. The committee took no immediate action on the bill.
