By Pat Sweeney Jan 30, 2023 | 3:20 PM

A Carrington (ND) woman has been charged with the 2022 murder of a five-month-old baby.

The Foster County State’s Attorney says Patricia Wick, 48, is also charged with the abuse of another child…and operating a home daycare with more than five children, without a license.

Wick was arrested today (Mon) after an investigation by Carrington Police and the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Court documents say that on Sept. 22, 2022, authorities responded to an in-home daycare in Carrington on a report of an unresponsive baby. The child later died of his injuries at a Fargo hospital.

The investigation revealed that a six-year-old child was injured in Wick’s care in early September…and that Wick illegally operated a home daycare.

At Wick’s initial hearing today (Mon), bail was set at $500,000 cash, surety or 10 percent. Wick may not have contact with families of the victims.

Wick’s next court appearance is set for Feb. 7th.
