Around 24-hundred households are slated to receive new water meters courtesy of the East Grand Forks Water and Light Department. The meters will replace existing counters that are reaching the end of their expected lifespan.
Customers affected will be contacted by letter with instructions to schedule an appointment to perform the installation. Keystone Utility Services and/or Water and Light crews will need access to the water meter – typically located in the basement…utility room…or crawlspace.
Water service will be temporarily interrupted during the 15-30 minute installation. Each meter costs around $150 dollars. They were budgeted as part of the department’s capital program.
The project will begin in January and run through 2023.
