MN worker fatalities increase in 2021

Minnesota clocked 80 fatal work-injuries in 2021. According to the annual Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries that compares to 67 in 2020.

Trade, transportation and utilities recorded the highest number of worker fatalities, with 22 cases. Construction had the second-highest number of worker fatalities, with 18. Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting finished third with 11 fatalities.

Male workers accounted for 73 of the 80 fatally injured workers last year.
