Supporters of giving the University Avenue corridor a bit of a make-over briefed city council members on project plans to date.
The study – funded in part from a Knight Foundation grant – included a series of public outreach meetings and community events to gather input.
Some of the initial ideas range from painted fire hydrants and utility box wraps to painted murals…banners…and updated street lighting.
The effort to improve the neighborhood could also lead to updated housing and rental codes.
The next meeting of the group is Thursday at the Christus rex Lounge 5-7 p.m.
