Recount vote totals change in GF races, but results do not

According to the North Dakota Secretary of State’s website, in the race for County Commission, third-place candidate Mark Rustad won the final seat over Lon Kvasager by 33 votes (6,728-6,695).

Bob Rost was the top vote-getter with 9,270, followed by Kimberly Hagen with 7,842.

The vote tally granting Grand Forks County Home Rule authority passed by 18 votes (8,386-8,368).

The half-cent sales tax measure was defeated by 29 votes (9,013-8,984).

In the race for the second House seat in District 43, incumbent Rep. Rep. Zach Ista beat fellow Democrat incumbent Mary Adams by four votes (1,716-1,712).

Republican Eric Murphy got the most votes, with 1,759.

The state canvassing board meets on Thursday to certify results of that House race.
