Tribal Nation to Offer Donor Registration on Tribal ID

The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa (ND) is the first tribe in the United States to add organ, eye and tissue donation registration to its tribal identification cards.
The Tribal Council of Turtle Mountain adopted “The Greyson Initiative,” earlier this year. Tribal Chairman Jamie Azure and other tribal leaders will “check the box” to register as donors at a ceremonial event today (Monday).
The Greyson Initiative makes documentation of the health care decision more accessible to members of the Native American community who may not have a driver’s license or State ID.
