They’ve tallied up the write-in votes for the At-large seat on the East Grand Forks council. Karen Peterson will fill the role being vacated by Marc DeMers. Peterson received 80 write-in votes for the win. Matt Sanders was second with 44 votes.
As a candidate in Ward 2 Peterson finished third in a race behind the eventual winner Ben Pokrzywinski and Clarence Vetter. In Ward 4 Dale Helms narrowly defeated Tim Johnson by 13 votes.
