GFPD: pursuit and arrest

By Doug Barrett Nov 9, 2022 | 8:59 AM

A wild chain of events involving three law enforcement agencies has landed a 28-year old man in jail.

It started Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. on a report of a vehicle driving on the sidewalk near the Walmart store on south Washington in Grand Forks. The same vehicle was later reported to be on the 3000 block of Queens Court where the male suspect allegedly threated to shoot an individual.

Officers later observed the suspect driving erratically over grass and a sidewalk on 32nd Avenue South. The driver refused to stop and took off at a high rate of speed. The police pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.

Law enforcement later spotted the vehicle crossing the Kennedy Bridge into Minnesota where it was stopped by East Grand Forks police.

The suspect was identified by the GFPD as Kyle Tischler – who has no known address. Charges range from reckless driving and fleeing to terrorizing…criminal mischief…and theft of property.
