GF CVB extends loan repayment plan

By Doug Barrett Nov 8, 2022 | 8:18 AM

The Grand Forks council has approved an extension to a loan repayment plan with the Convention and Visitors Bureau from 5 to ten years.

In 2020 the city loaned the CVB $150,000 dollars to help with cash flow due to the pandemic and a lack of funding through the lodging tax. An initial payment of $30,000 dollars was made by the bureau to the city in 2021.

Director Julie Rygg says extending the payment out will further assist the CVB which was hit by some unexpected costs this past year including a burst water pipe…building maintenance…and vandalism.
