MN man charged with making threats

A Minnesota man has entered a guilty plea to threatening a U.S. Senator.

According to court records 35-year old Brendon Daugherty left two voicemail messages on the field office telephone threating violence against the lawmaker. The Senator was located outside the state of Minnesota.

Daugherty was charged with one count of interstate transmission of a threat to injure the person of another. Field office staff retrieved and recorded the messages and reported them to U.S. Capitol Police.

A sentencing hearing will be scheduled at a later time.
