Supporters of a children’s museum in Grand Forks have secured a $100,000 dollar grant from the U.S. Economic Development Association.

The award was one of six so-called Placemaking Planning Grants announced by North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum during this week’s Main Street Summit in Bismarck. Burgum says the recipients were recognized for their efforts to enhance the attractiveness of North Dakota for businesses, economic activity and workforce.

The Center for Exploration in Grand Forks is still in the planning stages but is intended to be an interactive learning activities in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) for people of all ages and abilities.
