Funeral services for Earl Strinden released

There has been an outpouring of sympathy and respect following the death of former North Dakota political and UND Alumni Association leader Earl Strinden.  Strinden died this week at the age of 90.

UND President Andy Armacost says Strinden’s contributions to the campus were “ceaseless.”
U.S. Senator John Hoeven says the lifelong North Dakotan leaves a “legacy of service.”
UND Alumni Association CEO DeAnna Carlson Zink called Earl a “mentor” and “dedicated public servant.”
U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer called Earl Strinden a “political legend.”
Governor Doug Burgum says his efforts will have “lasting benefits” for students and citizens alike for generations to come.

In 2017 UND and the City of Grand Forks renamed a stretch of Stanford Road in honor of Strinden.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2022 with Visitation starting at 12:30 pm at Atonement Lutheran Church 4601 S. University Drive, Fargo ND 58104.
