A 28-year old Grand Forks woman faces several charges – including attempted murder – after an early morning dispute with her mother.

Grand Forks police were called to the 800 block of 18th Avenue South shortly before 1:00 a.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance with injury.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 61-year old female suffering from lacerations and a puncture wound. Authorities say Jenna Woinarowicz was upset with her mother identified as Robin Hendrickson. The GFPD says Hendrickson attempted to remove herself from the argument by going outside when Woinarowicz assaulted her with an edged weapon.

Hendrickson was transported to Altru Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

In addition to the attempted murder charge Woinarowicz faces counts of aggravated assault and interfering with an emergency call.

The incident remains under investigation.
