Schneider nominated by Biden as ND US Attorney

Attorney Mac Schneider has been nominated by President Biden to serve as U-S Attorney for the District of North Dakota.

Since 2008, Schneider has been a partner in the Schneider Law Firm, which has offices in Grand Forks and Fargo.

He served in the North Dakota Senate as a Democrat from Grand Forks from 2008 to 2016 and made an unsuccessful bid for U-S Congress in 2018.

Schneider is a former UND football player. He got his law degree at Georgetown in 2008.

North Dakota U-S Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer issued statements congratulating Schneider. Cramer said he would vote to confirm him.

Schneider will succeed Jennifer Puhl, who has been interim U-S Attorney for North Dakota since June, after Nicholas Chase was appointed to a state judgeship by Gov. Burgum.

McLain J. Schneider is a partner at the Schneider Law Firm, where he has worked since 2008. Previously he served in the North Dakota Senate from 2008 to 2016. From 2011 to 2017, Mr. Schneider was an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Dakota School of Law. Mr. Schneider received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008 and his B.A. from the University of North Dakota in 2002.
