18 graduate from MN DNR Conservation Officer Academy

By Pat Sweeney Sep 15, 2022 | 12:26 PM

Eighteen people graduated this week from the Minnesota D-N-R’s Conservation Officer Academy.

After 16 weeks of training, the officers will spend the next several months inn “field training” with experienced conservation officers before assuming their assigned stations…including Warroad and Baudette.

Some of the graduates are veterans, while others worked as police officers, firefighters or dispatchers.

Some had no previous law enforcement experience, coming to the D-N-R via the Conservation Officer Prep program, which provides a pathway for people with at least a two-year college degree to become a conservation officer.
