The U.S. Department of Treasury has announced another round of funding to help bring high speed internet to rural and remote areas.

Five additional state programs have been approved under the American Rescue Plan: Arkansas, Connecticut, Indiana, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Over $408 million is being doled out to increase internet access to more than 90,000 homes and businesses.

North Dakota’s is slated to receive $45 million dollars.

The ACP helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare, and more by providing a discount of up to $30 per month. The FCC estimates that about 48 million families are eligible – nearly 40% of U.S. households.
