It’s back to school today (Wednesday) for a lot of students in the Grand Forks School District. The K-to-9 crowd will hit the books for the start of the 2022-23 school year. Students in grades 10…11…and 12 won’t return until Thursday.
Back in May the district’s demographer projected an opening day headcount of 7,494. That compares to 7,410 students one year ago.
The district is also filling classrooms with over 100 new teachers.
Students in East Grand Forks won’t be back until after Labor Day. A preliminary count projects an enrollment of 1,874 students. East Grand Forks hired 22 new teachers and two new administrators over the summer.
