The Grand Forks Police SWAT Team was called out Sunday night after a man barricaded himself inside a residence in what started out as a domestic call.
When officers arrived at 1624 12th Avenue South shortly before 9:30 p.m. they could hear screaming coming from inside the home. When the male occupant refused to open the door the officers forced their way in. The female exited willingly…while the male refused to exit.
The GFPD SWAT team was joined by Crisis Negotiations…the Regional Bomb Team…and UAS Team. Police say Kenneth Allen was eventually removed from the building and taken into custody without further incident. Allen is charged with burglary…aggravated assault…felonious restraint…and terrorizing.
