A Tokio (ND) woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a foster child.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs and FBI responded to the home of Erich and Tammy Longie in May 2020 and found a deceased five-year old child in the basement of the home. An autopsy ruled the death to be a homicide. The pathologist observed abrasions and contusions consistent with “multiple episodes of inflicted trauma.”
Tammy Longie pleaded guilty to second degree Murder…three counts of Child Abuse…and Child Neglect.
Co-defendant Erich Longie, Jr. plead guilty to First-Degree Murder…Child Abuse…and Child Neglect and was previously sentenced to serve life in prison.
