ND man convicted in multiple murders dies

A man convicted of killing four people in Mandan has died. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 48-year old Chad Isaak was rushed from the state Penitentiary in Bismarck to Sanford Hospital around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities say Isaak was pronounced dead at 6:24 p.m.

A jury in August of last year found the 48-year-old Washburn chiropractor guilty of killing RJR Maintenance and Management co-owner Robert Fakler, and employees Adam Fuehrer, Bill Cobb and his wife, Lois Cobb. Isaak was sentenced to four life prison terms without the possibility of parole.He was in the process of appealing those convictions to the North Dakota Supreme Court.

The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol and the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR).

No further information has been released.
