A new president of Altru Health System is being recruited by Altru’s Board of Directors.
According to a statement from Altru, the position is open to internal Altru physician applicants.
Candidates will be vetted by a search committee made up of members of the Board, including chair Karen Thingelstad.
The full Board of Directors will make the final decision on a candidate.
Altru anticipates that the position will be filled by September 1.
The position was left vacant by the departure of Dr. Steven Weiser this past February. Dr. Joshua Deere was named interim chief medical officer.
