The search continues for a male individual who jumped into the Red River on Wednesday.
The East Grand Forks (MN) Police Department reports officers were called to 208 2nd Avenue NW shortly after 4:00 p.m. on a report of an unwanted person. Authorities say the man voluntarily left the area and said he was returning to Grand Forks.
Just after 4:30 p.m. an officer observed the individual jump from the Sorlie Bridge into the water below. Police attempted to throw a buoy and life jacket to the man but he was unable to grab the items.
Water rescue teams from the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department and Polk County S-O are assisting in the search. Police are not releasing the name of the individual at this time.
