Election Day is just a week away but Grand Forks County voters can cast ballots in person starting today (Tuesday). Early voting runs through Saturday at the Alerus Center.
At last count nearly 600 absentee ballot requests have been made – and roughly half have been returned.
Unlike two years ago Grand Forks County will not utilize a single voting location at the Alerus Center on Election Day. County Auditor Deb Nelson says that’s because the entire arena portion of the building won’t be available for both the June and November elections. As a result four separate city sites – and six county locations will be used.
That means anyone can go to the Alerus Center…Icon Arena…Home of Economy…or Holy Family to vote.Rural polling locations will be precinct specific and include the Alerus Center…Gilby Presbyterian Church…Larimore Senior Center…Manvel Public School…Northwood Community Center…Thompson Center…and Emerado City Hall.
The cost of this year’s election is expected to come in at just shy of $57,000 dollars.
Early Voting:
Tuesday-Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday, June 11, 2022 – 10:00am – 2:00pm
