By Doug Barrett Jun 1, 2022 | 8:46 AM

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is losing a four legged officer. K-9 Fia ended an eight year career on Tuesday. Fia may be retiring but her handler Trooper Kristjan Helgoe will continue his service with an eye on traffic enforcement.
During her eight year career K-9 Fia was involved in over 200 narcotic deployments that led to 79 felony and 217 misdemeanor drug arrests. The largest bust was a 32 pound seizure of meth and 35 pounds of pot.
