After a ceremony at the Thief River Falls campus on Thursday night, grads from the East Grand Forks campus were honored today (Fri) at UND’s Chester Fritz Auditorium.
One of Northland’s Students of the Year, nursing student Sonia Dickmu of Cameroon, told fellow 2022 graduates:
“Let us rise, hold our heads up high and take the lead. We have all it takes to succeed. Remember, whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, for your heart attitude ultimately determines how far you go in life.”
Meanwhile, nearly 2,000 students are eligible to cross the stage at UND’s spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday at the Alerus Center.
General John “Jay” Raymond, the chief of space operations for the U.S. Space Force, will give the main address at the 9:00 AM graduate degree ceremony…and the 2:00 PM undergraduate ceremony.
Also during the afternoon ceremony, honorary degrees will be conferred on Food Network host and local resident Molly Yeh, business leader and philanthropist Henry Herr and entrepreneur Delore Zimmerman.
