Despite more rain the Red River is projected to fall below moderate flood stage of 40 feet late Monday.
River levels are also slowly falling in Oslo and Drayton…holding steady in Pembina.
A Minnesota Army National Guard helicopter and crew moved two 5-ton pumps in place to help lower floodwaters threatening an earthen dam in northeastern North Dakota. The move came two days after a North Dakota helicopter helped stabilize the Bourbanis Dam with more than 200 sandbags weighing 1 ton each.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage through the day, with isolated severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon and evening. Heavy rain is expected where thunderstorms form this evening, with more widespread moderate to heavy rain overnight.
Strong gust winds were common on Saturday with gusts of 50 and 60 mph common in many parts of the Red River Valley. The NWS clocked a gust of 71 mph At the Grand Forks Airport around 11:42 p.m.
There are additional chances of rain throughout the week.
